„Ihr nennt mich Menschenfeind,/ Weil ich Gesellschaft meide./ Ihr irrt euch,/ Ich liebe sie./ Doch um die Menschen nicht zu hassen,/ Muß ich den Umgang unterlassen […].“

You call me an enemy of man, / Because I avoid his company. / But you are wrong, / I love man. / But in order not to hate the man, / I must avoid his company.

– Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840)

Statement

Alberto Biesok is a painter born in Valencia (Spain), with German and Mediterranean roots.

His artistic work has been focused on exhibitions around the idea of ”landscape”, within a formal pictorial and drawing point of view. The different formats and series try to bring together personal experiences. Bringing “far away places” closer to the viewer.

Strolling / walking, the experience of the actively looking, is the common link between the viewer and the painter. The pictorial / photographic language allows the artist to encode and decode the meaning not only of the experience in front of the landscape, but also the act of painting itself.

Unraveling the meaning of the landscape and bringing beauty to the eye of the one who looks and feels, is one of the objectives of creating.
